Non-urban Officer

This training program consisting of Part 1 and 2 of the Firefighter 2 training program and Course 1 of the Officer 1 training program.
Purpose of Certification:
Acquiring the basic knowledge of firefighting management and being able to determine the causes and circumstances of a fire.
Who it applies to?
Anyone wishing to occupy the position of Intervention Officer, Superior Officer or Director of Municipal Services for any city in the province of Quebec of a population fewer than 5,000 people or already performing such services. Effective since 2004, the Regulation respecting the conditions governing the exercise of functions within a municipal fire safety service makes provisions for certification requirements for firefighters who work for municipal fire safety services based on the size of the population being served.
Non-urban Officer Training Program
This program will provide you with the necessary management skills required to effectively coordinate a fire safety department and the services provided during an intervention with regards to administrative aspects involved.
This training program is composed of 6 courses:
1- Intervention Management
2- Workplace Organization
3- Leadership
4- Hazardous materials and prevention in non-urban environment
5- Assertion of the causes and circumstances of a fire
6- Integration of management techniques in a non-urban environment intervention
Benefits of Certification
A firefighter qualified as a Non-urban Officer will be able to occupy the position of Intervention Officer, Superior Officer or Director of Municipal Services for any city in the province of Quebec of a population fewer than 5,000 people.
